The Season will soon be here!

Hey Everyone! First blog of the 09 / 10 season! How cool to see snow this early, I REALLY hope that this is a sign of things to come. We have received lots of GOOD comments and suggestions recently and are trying to work them into the pre season plans. Little update on our projects, we have increased our fill capacity into the pond which means that we can make more snow faster! In addition, we have 2 new snow guns coming in to add to our already well stocked fleet. We are planning on building a new feature for the park, probably going to be a large picnic table of some sort. For those of you who rent gear, we bought lots of new skis, boards and boots - check out our new Rental Equipment Season Pass! Building a new tube storage facility near the tubing park and we are filling it with more tubes, hopefully you wont have to share anymore! Man I'm excited, stay tuned for more updates as the season draws closer. PS - For some great early, early season skiing and snowboarding, visit some of our sister areas, I know that Wild Mountain will be opening soon!!!!!!!!

i agree with austin and mike we need to start blowing snow. we should open this weekend. i know we could do it. just open sunday. everyone has been waiting. we should make that picnic table that would be sick wit it.

dude austins idea is so beast! we need to open that place up its like never used and that would be just like awesome to have a place to hang out while we are all riding the park!

austin has a good point and i think it will be sick if it happens. also the picnic table will be a good addition to the park. anyone know the dimensions? cant wait to come back and board! VIVA LA GREAT BEAR!

I agree with austin. The wax haus just sits there, but we could open it up during the day so that park kids could just chill, have lunch, and do all our other shenanigans. That way we don't have to go all the way down to base camp when the lift gets busy.

it would be really cool if you opened the wax shack on the terrian park like make it a place where people on the terrian can just hang out. Anyway can't wait for the season to start.!

Those cross !@#$ry trails rarely have snow on them foo, they need to keep the snowmaking to the hill to keep it from turning into a glacier. Well maybe I'll see ya riding this weekend, oh what.....it’s gonna be awhile for you guys. . . .

Great Bear has about 6K of groomed cross country trails. No snowmaking is currently done on the trails. Rental gear is avaialbe. If you view our hiking trail map, you will also see the cross country trail system

Was at the SFSD city site looking for XC Trails for this winter and it lists the Bear. Did not see anything mentioned for XC Skiing. ....?

Hey, to all Great Bear Locals, its really cool to check this site out! The hill has made some major changes since the original GBL crew represented back when boarding was coming of age! I remember when the knoll on skiiers right was still there and we would build hits on it. I remember when there never was a third run on far skiiers right and when the tube hill was nothing but a gravel pit! Now you have sliders, boxes and even a gapper to progress your manuevies! Progression is nice to see! Just remember the SMART STYLE approach and you guys and girls will continue ripping for seasons to come! I wish everyone hitting the Big Red Quad this year many good rides and long live the Bear!

YAY! I'M THE FIRST PERSON TO COMMENT ON A BLOG THIS YEAR! I FEEL LIKE A HILLBILLY IN A THUNDERSTORM! YIPPEE! But anyway, winter is coming in hot, so let's make it a good one. I'm excited about being able to make more snow, as well as the new park feature. If the weather keeps up, it should be a great winter, so let's make it a good one.
