Grizzly Park is now 100%

The park is now 100% open. We have set a couple of nice lines, put in a table top, roller and put the Wall Ride up. We have also formed a park crew that is now working the park and operating the park lift during peak times! Our 1st Rail Jam of the season is Sunday December 28th. This will also the be the first King of Great Bear event, if you don't know what this is about, check out the events page for details.

Very well said fosho..Luke..I'd have to agree 100% with everything you said...and the bigger the jump, the more space it takes up, and Great Bear doesn't have that much space to work with as we all know. . also, it should be obvious the jump is too big when you have to bomb the entire hill just to hit it and land smooth...so about that flat box, is it a feature great bear will soon have?? Maybe get rid of the white kink as the way it's set up now, it very rarely gets hit..put it in that spot..would be GRAND!

I agree that it is pointless to put the falt rail on the bunny hill... I have a few more things to add tho. . 1- is that the bunny hill is a beginner hill not a terrain park, 2- it would be a pain to groom around. Also we need to remember that we need to get the cat between every raill and feature to groom.... so we are very limited to where we can put stuff.

In my opinion putting the box on the bunny hill would be pointless. no one would use it. as far as keeping less experienced riders out of the park, it is just not going to happen. We have a 12 acre ski resort and on the weekends about 60 to 70 percent of the guests at the hill would be considered "less experienced" what we need to do is organize the terrain park and use the space as efficiently as possible. make smart, fun features. A small box is a good idea and would go well down in between the wall ride and the table top. I think that that is the best area for it right now. However, other considerations might want to be made as well. such as how the flat rail and the flat box are positioned. both features are on a downslope, or set in an "urban fashion." If you have two features that are almost the same in design why not mix it up and have one flat. Like I said in the last post, this would make it a lot more enjoyable and easier to spin off of. In terms of using the space efficiently, the area West and farther down the hill from the table are not being used at all. why not put your down rails down there? the hill is already set up for that kind of feature. With the jumps: When the season drags on, it seems as though the table gets bigger and bigger, do we really need a 65ft table that 9/10's of the riders wont hit? make the features smaller like a solid 40-50ft-er. We do not need a feature that big and that unused dominating the small space we have. Just a couple of suggestions, but once again I commend you on a job well done this season so far.

I really like the idea of putting a rail or box on the bunny hill for beginners to practice on, keeps people out of the park that shouldn't be there, thoughts?

Maybe you could put it in the park between the wall ride and the jump...not much of a slope there, and its an empty space. .eh?

allow me to enlighten you...ha, what i meant by 0 degree slope was to have the fun box on a flat, or slight downhill area. .this eases the tricking. thanks.. p.s....i like how you heightened the wall ride, and everybody enjoy the Snow

The flat rail needed a little repair work and will be back in the park shortly. We are also working on consctructing a small flat box, what do you think about placing that on the bunny hill?

I agree with the flat fun box idea. it would create a safer learning area for those just getting into park skiing or boarding. Plus the feature would create a solid learning platform for more technical tricks such as 270 ons, switch approaches, ect. With the addition of more snow it would also be benificial to raise each feature up onto its own table like 2 to three feet off of the normal slope. this would help in eliminating the terrible bombholes that we experience so much. What happened to the flat rail? That rail was really beneficial to someone learning because it took the threat out of hitting a kink for your first true rail. That rail would also be great if it was up on its own table too. It would then be possible to try more technical dismounts, 270, 450s out. As for the jumps, lets try to make them wider, the kicker and the landing. I don't see how safe a jump is when it is as wide as it is long. I've seen so many people try a spin off of the jump and fall of the side. Ur just looking for an accident. All in all good improvments for the park this year. I am glad to see a little bit more effort is being put forth.

A zero degree slope? We are restricted to putting features in the park only, any thoughts as to where in the park? I'm curious as to why a flat box? Would this be for less experienced park users? Would anyone be interested in a lesson program on boxes and rails?

Well the 1st rail jam of the year is in the books, glad to see some of you who are home from school for the holidays participate. How about Canyon, 6 years old and ripping up the park! We are planning to reset the wall ride to make for a better transition.
